The Heart of The Divine Mercy

11-05-2023Letter from the PastorFr. Don Kline, V.F.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

May the Peace and Mercy of Our Lord pierce your heart!

For the past several months, a team of dedicated parishioners have been working quietly behind the scenes to bring about the newest addition to our parish and school community. It all began about two years ago when man shared with me that he found our parish to be a peaceful place where people come and experience God’s mercy, love, and healing. This experience of Our Lord’s mercy touched his heart and motivated him to want to do something about it. He felt called to find a way to promote the Divine Mercy of Our Lord right here at our parish.

In prayer, we came to understand that Our Lord was calling us to create a dedicated space where His Divine Mercy would be promoted and offered to all who visit. The center also needed to include an image of the Divine Mercy that St. Faustina was given by Our Lord Himself. The bronze statue and the location are now becoming a reality with the addition of the Divine Mercy Center located adjacent to the St. Bernadette Adoration Chapel. The exact date of completion has not been set but the goal is 2023.

The vision to create the bronze statue was realized when one of our parishioners and local artist/sculptor, Mr. Carlos Ayala was asked to create the beautiful bronze statue you see pictured above. This gifted artist/ sculptor has blessed thousands of people through his renderings over the years and we are blessed to be able to receive the fruit of his labor with this amazing statue. The seven-foot-tall bronze statue of the image of Divine Mercy was truly a service of love and I am sure will move hearts and souls closer to the Kingdom.

The person who originally provided the vision and the funding for this project wished to remain anonymous. Our Lord has since called him to Himself, but the generosity and vision of this man will live on in the hearts and minds of all those touched by Our Lord and the Divine Mercy center.

There is so much to share about how the Divine Mercy Center will be utilized in the future. I assure you, many powerful blessings and graces are already part of this new addition to our campus. While we are still working on some of the final details, please continue to pray for all those who are in need of God’s mercy. May they find in Our Lord’s Divine Mercy the hope, healing, and peace they desire.

God loves us – all of us. And, He wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. Thus, all will come to share His joy.

God Bless,

Fr. Don Kline, V.F
