Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
“Do to others as you would have them do to you… Give, and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.” Today’s Gospel helps us to understand what love looks like. Jesus reminds us that love gives without counting the cost. Love seeks the good of the other without looking for anything in return. This is the kind of love that Jesus invites His disciples to have in our all relationships.
Your generosity in years past has helped boost the Charity & Development Appeal to new heights this year. The Diocese of Phoenix is releasing $9.5 million in grants to 70 organizations that help those in need throughout Arizona, including those that support women’s health and pregnancy services, homeless, veterans, unemployed, the elderly, and more. When you give to the Charity & Development Appeal you support the work of more than transforms the lives of thousands of people. Together, we can put our faith into action. Together, we can do more than any one parish or person can do. Your love gives hope to so many!
“In the Beatitudes, Jesus provides us a roadmap to happiness,” Bishop Olmsted said. “Do we see Jesus in our poor, hungry, sad, and the excluded. Jesus calls us to tend to one another with dignity and compassion.” The CDA is a wonderful way to reach those often neglected or even forgotten by many in our culture.
The CDA provides Catholic-affiliated agencies the means to continue their missions, such as educating and forming future priests, providing for religious education and Catholic education for today’s youth, and much needed assistance for our elderly and our veterans, among other initiatives. Your gift, big or small, will make a difference in the lives of many people.
For those who have not yet made a pledge, please do so today! These programs and services reach beyond the boundaries of any one parish to all of our community. Support works of mercy in our Diocese. Make a pledge, fill out your donor card today or donate online at dphx.org/CDA, and be an instrument of God’s love and mercy through your gift to the CDA.
Consider reaching out to help bless the poor, hungry, downhearted and rejected. If you have not yet made your gift to the CDA, what is preventing you from being a part of this wonderful opportunity to help those in need? With your gift to the CDA, you heed Our Lord’s call to be an instrument of God’s mercy. Thank you for your generous support.BACK TO LIST
