Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament (Part V of V)

11-29-2020Letter from the PastorFr. Don Kline, V.F.

Dear Family,

Peace and Joy in Our Lord Jesus!

Jesus once commented that those who believe in Him without seeing would be blessed (Jn 20:29). Yet in His mercy, He still provides a way for us to gaze upon Him two thousand years after He walked the earth (2 Cor 3:18). Therefore, "fix your eyes on" the eucharistic Jesus (Heb 3:1). Consider visiting Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. In this place of believing, let Him fill you with "eucharistic amazement" (Ecclesia de Eucharistia, Pope John Paul II, 6).

I am so grateful to all those who have committed to adoring Our Lord for one hour each week. Your promise to love and adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament blesses us all. Your dedication to praying before Our Lord each week provides a vital link in an unbroken chain of love offered to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament whereby our parish enthrones Him King by giving Him the honor and glory due His name through perpetual adoration.

Your commitment to perpetual adoration is to grow in your personal relationship with Jesus and contribute to the Church’s mission to bring Christ to the world. Adoring Our Lord upon His Eucharistic Throne brings us face to face with the awesome humility of Our Lord. He waits for you with unconditional love. He thirsts for your love. The Presence of God longs for you to give your heart to Him. Adoration is where His Heart speaks to your heart. All joy in heaven and earth flows from Our Lord and is given to us as the Sacred Body of Our Lord. Come let us adore!

Your Holy Hour…

  • brings everyone in the world closer to Christ
  • deepens your union with Christ and brings great joy to his Sacred Heart
  • helps to “contribute to the radical transformation of the whole world.” (John Paul II, L’ Osservatore Romano, June 26, 1996)
  • blesses the Church with vocations through prayer
  • helps fallen away Catholics return to the Church
  • builds a bridge for our separated brethren to have a place of welcome before Jesus
  • “makes reparation for the great faults and crimes of the world.” (John Paul II, Dominicae Cenae, Feb. 24, 1980)
  • gives you “peace that surpasses all understanding.” (Phil. 4:7, John 14:27, 20:19)

I rejoice with all who approach the Throne of Grace with humble hearts each hour of each day throughout the year. Our Lord, truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, has drawn our Christian family together. Blessed John Paul II once said that it is from the Eucharist that "we receive strength to live the Christian life." It is from the Eucharist that we receive the zeal to share that life with others. Your faithful witness has inspired many to seek Our Lord. Your presence before Our Lord has touched the hearts of God’s lost children. Your sacrifice has enabled many hidden souls to encounter Our Lord Jesus. Your perseverance and sincere love for Christ has moved the world closer to the Kingdom of Heaven. You are beautiful reflections of God’s love and you are His beloved. Thank you for the generous gift of yourself. You are truly a witness of Our Lord’s generous love. Thank you for making Adoration of Our Eucharistic King a beautiful reality at St. Bernadette!
