Infant Baptism
Congratulations to all new parents and welcome to the children!
New life gives the promise, hope and expectations that the world will become a better place. If the world is to become a better place because these children have been born into it, these parents have a huge responsibility. They are not alone. We, the Christian Community, and specifically the Catholic Community of St. Bernadette, share that responsibility.
It is our shared responsibility to love and care for these children, to pray for them, to model gospel values, to share the Faith and to include them in the community's worship, outreach and play. This is why it is so important to celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism in the Liturgy. The community is present to wholeheartedly accept the responsibility for the new life presented to it.
We, the Community of St. Bernadette's, pray that our words and actions may lead these newly baptized children to the wonder of God's love for them. We pledge our prayer and support to you, the parents and families who have been gifted with these children.
Baptisms are usually celebrated the 2nd weekend of the month. The 2 required Baptism Preparation Sessions for first time parents are usually scheduled the last two Tuesdays of the month. (Parents are welcome to and encouraged to attend Baptism Preparation Sessions before the birth of their child.) To schedule an appointment or for further information, please contact Linda Flosi 480-905-0221 x 206.
