The Society of St. Vincent de Paul
We Care
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is an international non-profit Catholic lay organization established in 1833 to serve the poor, the needy and the vulnerable. The members of the Society strive to grow in holiness by living out gospel values through fellowship, spirituality, service and leading others to serve.
The Phoenix Diocesan Council of SVdP has been assisting individuals and families in Central and Northern Arizona since 1946. Diocesan programs include services for the homeless, a medical and dental clinic, charity dining rooms, thrift stores, transitional housing, college scholarships and programs for the working poor and unemployed.
In addition to the services and programs offered by the Diocesan Council, ninety individual locally-organized groups (conferences) offer a variety of services in a unique person-to-person model of service to those in need.
We Can Help
The St. Bernadette Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is here to help those in need within our parish boundaries.
- We provide food for the hungry.
- We offer some emergency financial assistance with rent or utilities.
- We offer referrals to social service agencies and collaborative partners.
- We provide case planning and advocacy services.
If you are in need of assistance, please contact our SVdP message line at 480-905-0221 ext 316 and leave a detailed message with your name and phone number. We will call you back within 24 hours. Please note we are unable to return calls to numbers that do not accept blocked calls.
We Need Your Help

There are many ways you can help those who are less fortunate through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. You can donate your time, money or goods. Your generous contribution of time, money and goods will help us to help thousands of homeless and working poor to receive much-needed food, clothing, and financial assistance for rent and utilities.
We are looking for caring individuals to be part of our conference and to serve the poor right in our own parish boundaries. By becoming a St. Vincent de Paul member, you join other individuals who share a common concern for the poor, needy and vulnerable. Becoming a Vincentian is a special calling by God to put your faith into action by serving others. Is God calling you to serve Him in the person of the poor?
The St. Bernadette SVdP Conference meets on the first and third Tuesdays of every month. If you are interested in attending one of our meetings, getting more information, or joining us, please contact us through the Parish Volunteer office at
